Terms And Conditions

General Rules And Regulations:

a. Age requirement:

i) Minimum age requirement is 13 years for enrolment to regular courses.

ii) For enrolment to summer camps, children’s courses and private tuition, the age criteria is flexible and dependent on the particular course selected.

b. Private tuition will be conducted at the institute premises only. Trainers will not be assigned to the students’ personal residences.

c. Knowledge of English is required for the benefit of the candidate.

d. “Make up classes” can be availed by the students after paying a fee of Rs 600/- for per hour of extra class. These classes can be scheduled by prior request and appointment with the centre coordinator.

e. Minimum number of students required to run a particular batch is 6.

f. Reimbursement

In case of insufficient enrolments for a particular batch, before the course commences, that particular course will be either cancelled or postponed and the fees, reimbursed. Once a particular batch has commenced there will be no reimbursement of fees under any circumstances.

g. Cell phones should be kept on silent mode during class and only urgent calls can be made/answered outside the classroom.
Text messaging is strictly prohibited during the class.

h. Course details and duration

i) The various course syllabus and brief details are available on the IFLaC website and also displayed in the
institute premises for reference.

ii) The beginner’s course duration is of 80 to 100 hours and the higher levels are 140 to 180 hours.
Each course comprises of training for a minimum of 2 hours a day for every weekday class and 3 hours a day
for every weekend class.

iii) The number of hours per course is subject to change depending on the batch strength, student grasping
ability and completion of syllabus before the prescribed time.

Registration, Change/Transfer Of Batch, Withdrawal Of Participation:

a. The registration will be held valid only when full amount of the respective course fee has been paid either by cash, cheque or demand draft.

b. Text books and course material will be issued only after full payment of the prescribed fee is met and distributed to the students after the third day of scheduled class.

c. The registration includes the right to attend the selected foreign language classes, to be present at the examination and to obtain the corresponding certificate. (The issue of pass certificates are subject to acquiring minimum marks required)

d. Change of batch and/or timing of batch would be allowed only before the commencement of the chosen course.

e. The student will be allowed to transfer to another batch only after paying a ‘Batch Transfer fee’ of Rs. 4000/-. The institute will reserve the right to take the final decision on the batch transfer. The batch transfer is only valid for a transfer made within six months of the commencement of the batch initially registered for.

f. Withdrawal of participation from any course must be submitted in writing by the student with stated reasons. The date of withdrawal will be considered as the date of receipt of the letter at the Institute. There will be no reimbursement of fees in this case.

g. In case of withdrawal before the commencement of the course, 20% of the course fee will be deducted as administration charges.

Assessment/Level Test:

An assessment test will be conducted at a fee of Rs 500/- for students with prior knowledge of any of the foreign languages offered, to determine the course level to which they can be admitted.

Attendance, Examinations & Evaluation Criteria

a. IFLaC is under no obligation to voluntarily compensate the student, monetarily or academically for absenteeism on their part.

b.The student should obtain a minimum attendance of 75% during the course.

c.”Make up classes” can be availed by the students after paying a fee of Rs 600/- for per hour of extra class. These classes can be scheduled by prior request and appointment with the centre coordinator.

d. Fixture of examination dates are at the sole discretion of the institute.

e. Students who do not present themselves on the scheduled examination date can request for a separate time and date to take the exam and after payment of the prescribed fine.

i)The fine for the midterm exam is Rs 500/- to be taken within 1 month from the original scheduled date.

ii)The fine for the final exam is Rs 2000/- to be taken within 2 months from the original scheduled date.

f. If any student writes/scribbles in the examination question booklet, they will be charged a fine of Rs. 500/-.

g. All Portfolio Assignments must be submitted within the prescribed time. Any Portfolio Assignments submitted after the final exam date will not be evaluated.

a. Only those students who pass the course with the required minimum marks will be awarded the pass certificates.

b. The pass percentage is 60 % for all courses with effect from January 2013. Certificates will not be issued if the minimum pass percentage is not obtained.

c. A student will be issued a participation certificate only if they have minimum attendance of 75%.

d. Certificates and marks cards will be issued only one month after the completion of the course. In case a student wishes to have it issued in advance they will need to pay a fee of Rs. 500/- for the same.

e. Students are required to state, on the registration forms, their full legal names as they wish them to appear on the certificate.

f. In case a student wishes to change their name on the certificate after its issue, they would have to pay a ‘new certificate issue fee’ of Rs 750/-.

g. In case of misplacement, severe damage or loss of original certificates, duplicate certificates will be issued only on receipt of an original affidavit stating the reason for loss and requirement for a new certificate and on payment of a fine of Rs. 750/-

Liability Of IFLaC:

a. IFLaC will not be held responsible for any personal items that have been misplaced, stolen, lost or left behind by students unsupervised.

b. The liability of IFLaC and its staff is limited to intent and gross negligence.

c. IFLaC also accepts no liability for the cancellation of its service in the event of unavoidable external forces (e.g. natural disasters, fire, floods, war, official orders and all the other circumstances beyond the control of the contractual parties)
